Workshop Action Painting

Action painting sometimes called "gestural abstraction", is a style of painting in which paint is spontaneously dribbled, splashed or smeared onto the canvas, rather than being carefully applied. The resulting work often emphasizes the physical act of painting itself as an essential aspect of the finished work or concern of its artist. At this link you can try it out: www.jacksonpollock.org

“Drawing, painting and do-it-yourself for children”

Discover your child’s talent with structure acrylic! Structure acrylic is a thick paint that does not drip and is easy to handle, so it is possible to apply layer upon layer without first having to wait for the paint to dry. All kinds of materials can be stuck to the paint, from marbles to pieces of cloth and plastic objects. Children are instantly captivated by this unusual medium. We will come to the party venue and provide all the materials required. This workshop lasts approximately one hour and we guarantee that every child will go home proudly bearing their own 30cm x 30cm work of art. De lessons are on saturday from 14.00 till 16.00.

The course is € 15 for 2 hours and € 10 for 1 hour per lesson including materials, 19%BTW and limonade. Minimum lessons per participant is 8.

“Drawing and painting course adults”

The painting classes are two hours of intensive classes, first with a 15 minute theory. The topics include:
- Model for the various drawing skills such as movement, shapes and proportions.
- Still, for studying light and shadow and thus volume painting.
- Portrait, for refining the observation and study of expression.
- Perspective, for creating depth or trompe l'oeil painting.

Cost of the course are € 29 per class includes materials, excluding 19%BTW, for the model drawing lessons € 39 excl. per lesson. Minimum number of lessons per participant is four.
A "ten lessons package" costs € 270 including materials / model and ex 19%BTW and valid for 3 months.
We have a model two times a month and twice the other subjects.

“Modelled paintings”

Structure acrylic is a new type of paint with a unique composition. It is a soft and light medium and invites experimentation. Working with structure acrylic involves a combination of painting and modelling. Wonderful and unique results can be achieved by all. This workshop is a special experience during which you will discover your hitherto unknown creative side. De workshop duurt 2 uur en iedereen kan zijn eigen doek beschilderen, maar er kan ook in groepen op een groot doek gewerkt worden.

“Children’s Workshop or Children’s Party”

“Fresco painting”: - Get into the skin of the Etruscans -

The Etruscans liked to express their stories in images and covered their walls with these pictures. They painted on the freshly-laid plasterwork, using soil pigments finely ground in water. In this workshop you will become acquainted with this technique. Delving into the past, you will get into the skin of the Etruscans and after three to four hours of solid work you will take home a panel with your own fresco.

“Workshops on location”

The above workshops can all be held at the location of your choice. Under professional guidance, you can also transform a drab wall into a cheerful or inspiring surface to please the eye.

Minimum of 8 partecipants € 30,- per person including materials, and excluding transport.

Workshops for up to 30 participants can be held in Studio Judith Dubois on the Overtoom in Amsterdam.
